Asperger’s Syndrome

October 24th, 2006

A.S. - First described by German doctor Hans Asperger in 1944 (one year after Leo Kanner’s first paper on autism).

Basically, there are tell-tale traits associated with this condition which is a mild form of autism. The majority of the traits have to do with lack of or trouble with emotions and empathy and what would be commonly known as cases of obsessive-compulsive disorder or mild eccentricism. Also rather prevalent is inappropriate reciprocal social interaction.

This may seem like a problem at first. You see, I have not been formally diagnosed with A.S. but many of the signs and traits I have exibited all my life. For some time now, people have been trying to convince me that I had a problem or had the syndrome in the context that anything with the syndrome terminology attached to it was somehow problematic. Somehow I don’t see it that way. Let me explain this idea further.

Did you ever know a photographer, data entry, web page designer or developer, or even a computer programmer? Have you ever known anyone good at troubleshooting computer hardware or good in handcrafts like wood carving or leatherwork? What about a car mechanic, carpenter, taxi driver, tax accounting, or clerk filing personnel?

This may surprise you, but I have done all of these save the last two as a job. The filing I do at home for just about everything in some way or another from bills to books, while the accounting gets performed when I do my own taxes on the 1040 long form with a business ownership attached. And everyone of these are listed in the jobs that are good for A.S. candidates. Is it any surprise that I have done all these?

So, the question becomes whether or not having a condition or state of A.S. is a hindrance or a necessity. There are several aspects of the way we with this Asperger’s Syndrome think, act, and do things that would not make us any good at these sort of jobs without those traits. In light of this, I have determined that it is necessary for me to re-evaluate the way I see myself and conclude that there is really nothing wrong with me.

What I supposedly have (if I indeed have it) is now considered by me to be a tool of my existence in the manner in which I must operate my life. It is true that there will be many more socially awkward situations in the future. But as explained before, I have now found a way in which I might succeed in the financial game without having to talk to anyone. One must admit that as long as I have money to spend, no one will care what I have or don’t have.

And if everyone else needs to remind themselves that I have a “syndrome” or a “condition” or see that there “must be something wrong with me and it’s not my fault” in order to accept who I am, then that is their cross to bear, and their blame to cast.

I know that I am a child of HaShem made in the likeness of Them and saved through faith by the blood of Yeshua. I know that I follow the commandments of G-d in His Law because I want to please him. I know that favor is when opportunity meets preparation. I know that I am a Son of G-d by adoption through faith.

And, I also know that in the words of Red Skelton, “I may be crazy - but as long as I’m making money, they ain’t locking ME up!”

Abortion - Both Sides are right

October 23rd, 2006

Today it seems that if there is nothing more to fight about then we make up stuff to fight about. It is the nature of man to fight about something. This is why we will never get along with everyone all the time.

Take the topic of abortion. On the one hand, we are taught that it is morally wrong to kill for no reason. There is also a further understanding that G-d does not condone the spilling of innocent blood, calling it an abomination. So those who believe in the existance of a supreme being also believe that abortion is not only wrong, but that we should not do it. This same G-d also says that we should not hate our neighbor saying via Yeshua that if we hate our neighbor then we have ultimately committed murder in our hearts. Murder is the taking of life without a cause. This is all fine and well for those who state that this is ok for them because their cause is that abortion is wrong and when put into action it creates a reason to hate; which is murder in the heart. Such a hard existence is created here for the Believer.

On the other hand, we are also taught that good and evil, Heaven and Hell, Life and Death even, are laid down before us and we are encouraged to choose Life. We do not have to choose Life (”L” used here instead of “l” meaning existence with G-d, the Abba or Source of Life). But, we are indeed incouraged to choose Life. So, if there are some that choose to kill innocent life, this is their choice because it has been laid down before them with an alternative choice to not kill innocent life.

So what happens when the one side believes so strongly that abortion is so wrong that they decide to take it into their own hands to stop it instead of believing that the L-rd our G-d will not take His own vengence? These are the people that end up doing evil themselves by blowing things up and hurting the feelings of so many people in the process by the hurtful things they do and will say about the other person taking the action of abortion. When this happens, both sides are wrong.

The final moral of the story? Both sides are actually right in their belief. They are right in the fact that they have the right to choose. They were given this choice by HaShem (Hebrew for “The Name”) Himself. It is up to the Righteous (the ones living within the corpus of G-d’s Law) to speak up and say the truth about G-d’s Word and Will. It is not up to the Righteous to force this Word and Will upon others. Everyone is coming to the day when they will have to account their own persons and actions to HaShem. We are only accountable for ourselves and it is only our job to be a witness to His goodness and glory and nothing more. When we force our will, what we believe is G-d’s Will, upon others, then we are in the wrong.

We should pray in agreement that others choosing abortion would change their choice because we grieve over the judgement over their actions they will face. But, ultimately the choice is theirs and only theirs to make and not for us to change by using negative means.  Instead, we must love them even as we love enemies and keep praying for their salvation.

Acid Reflux Test

October 23rd, 2006

Drugs, drugs, too many drugs today in use. Start mixing them up and no telling what will happen. This post is put forth in the interest of economical (cheap) and all natural solutions.

It has been said that more people have acid reflux disease today than ever before because of all various causes including stress, environment, and other things. Did you know that if the stomach is too alkali, the same nerve receptors are affected?

Here is a test you can try: vinegar.

  1. Eat three or four of those little sour pickles (they must be sour for the acidity level), or take a couple of small to medium swallows of a white wine vinegar or one good one of a balsamic vinegar.
  2. If using straight vinegar, you might want to follow it with two or three swallows of water (you will know whether you need to or not).
  3. Wait for 10-15 minutes.

If there is no more problem, your stomach was too alkali or had too many fats or sugars to break down without the appropriate acidity level.

If there is still an issue, then you do indeed have too much acid and you can neutralize it with the appropriate amount of bicarbinate or baking soda and water.

In the mean time, you might also take a look at the things you are eating. The body can only break down so much animal fats and processed sugars. Consider going light on these to help. That means high fatty meats such as pork and processed foods and granulated sugars.

Processed breads use chemicals to achieve their state of usability, meaning that they were probably put through many chemical processes. These also are broken down straight away into sugars when eaten - once again the sugar level thing. Consider using whole grain breads. A good rule of thumb is: If the ingredients do not start with the word “whole” it is not whole grain with which you are dealing.

Consider also increasing your intake of tomato and citrus products in conjunction with higher vinegar products like worcesterhire sauce and balsamic vinegrette. Salads with balsamic vinegrette and tomatoes are really good especially with carrots and cucumbers. Red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar, and rice wine vinegars are all pretty much the same when cooking. They are awesome when you need to spice something up and are cooking with olive oils. Speaking of olive oils, get more of this into your foods. Use it with sea salt as a hand rubbing scrub.

Another excellent use is to combine with a red wine vinegar and balsamic vinegar mix along with teriyaki marinades, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and fresh cracked peppercorn pepper as a custom marinade for steaks. The olive oil is a good fat and easier on the stomach, and the vinegar helps tendarize the meat. This style recipe rocks, and is sure to help you get more vinegar into your eating habits.

Prosper.com Ground Floor

October 22nd, 2006

Well, I just found out some interesting news tonight. It seems as though the site called Prosper.com has only been publicly announced since February 2006 even though there has been a buzz about it in several media sources and by word of mouth for a year or so previous to that. I have been a member since April 2006. This means that I signed up two months after the public announcement. I know that this does not seem like anything significant yet, but wait because there is more.

I am now 4 1/2 months into this endeavor with an average of two loan purchases per month being acquired. As an active Loan Purchaser under the name ByteLoans, I have now been actively acquiring loans at $50 per eBay-style won loan except one which was a partially won bid for a little over $18. I now have 10 loans to date and an active principal worth of about $489. For those who are interested in the critical numbers, this means that after 4 1/2 months I am now making $0.21 per day while sitting on my tuckuss with an active average return of over 18%. Payments (Prin. and Int.) are currently about $15-18 per month now counting the 10th loan just added (monthly payments which will increase with every stacked loan on an approximately bi-weekly basis) being rolled into future loans. In other words, with each loan I can roll other loan payments into purchasing them while using less and less of my own funds with each new loan and eventually without using any of my own funds. Every time I buy another piece of a loan (like $50 of a $3000) for the 10%-28% range I like to play in, that also means an increase in strictly profit of about 4-5 cents per day every two weeks (or every time I add another loan).

The longer view is that in another 6 months, this thing should be well into the autonomous stage. What this signifies is that I will have to put nothing else into it on a planned bi-weekly bases as capital because it will feed itself on a bi-weekly basis. After that point, the next goal is to get the initial investment out using leftover payment funds from stacked loans that are not used for the next loan acquisition (which should take less time than the build), and then start acquiring loans for $100, $150, and so forth. There are also side plans of letting it take over personal subscriptions (like web hosting) and living bills and the like while using multiple money market accounts to hold immediate funds in short term reserve where they can still work. After that, anything is permissible.

Here is where it gets really exciting for me. I am on the ground floor. To date, this thing has had press out the kazoo. In fact, they just had a favorable spot in Reader’s Digest for the November 2006 issue. Most of the press has been good to excellent, some of it has been filled with questions only time can answer, and none of it really has been bad. For me, this is everything as it serves as vendication to me for those who would not believe me when I said it was a winning plan. And I am, for the first time, literally on the ground floor of a major business emersion event.

Listed below is just the start of many reasons why I think you should get the investment bug (or get it again) and join me either directly, or even with your own account.

  1. All my loans to this date are current; because, this is a community based person to person loan system with an importance set upon personal reputations after the gruelling validations and verifications just to become a part of this forum have been passed.
  2. Of all the loans I will acquire, and based on the stats available to all on prosper.com under “performance” listings, I expect to get profits of at least 90% and closer to 98% or 100% over all ranges of credit grading and loans currently outstanding and being paid which are reported in the last year of operation in this proudly transparent online business forum.
  3. The loan performance I currently have is better in real life than the spreadsheets I spent 2 months developing as part of the research I did before I even signed up to be a part of prosper.com (and I low-balled the estimates).
  4. My personal loan search criteria include those with verified bank accounts, verified homeowners if possible, and definitely part of groups because I want the peer pressure on them.
  5. Because every person has a different credit rating, with every newly acquired loan comes another person attached as the first level of “loan portfolio diversification.” I also diverisify by the credit rating (good rating and low interest one time, not so good rating and better interest the next) as the second level of loan portfolio diversification. The third level depends on the loan cause. This three-tier approach gives me the broadest returns-security possible.
  6. As I mentioned before, this is a community based and reputation conscious lending forum.
  7. There is much more information to list here, but I can provide hard links, examples, and other information if anyone is really interested in the “why it will work” because they still won’t believe me.

So, as you can see, there is great performance here along with good reasons. There is tons more information and particulars that I could go into here, but what I really want is for the rest of you all to believe in me and what I am doing, and please pray for success. A success here will mean success for the House of Denning in the long run. Help building it will mean success sooner. So, if the prosperity outlook gets a hold of you and you get the bigger vision of what is going on here, feel free to contact me on how to help build the ByteLoans account, as this is scheduled to be a growth fund for the House of Denning. If you want to strike out on your own, you will find it hard to beat the returns. Go for it! But if you believe in what can be done here or you really don’t want anyone else in your personal credit business, consider teaming up with me as administrative personnel.

If anyone knows the way to lay out a Foundation let me know. There is a much larger vision here than just making money for this little Austin family. I would love to talk individually with you all, but I just don’t have the time. So be looking for updates here as this is the best way for me to keep everyone informed with the same information in a timely manner.

The vision “ByteLoans - Building the House of Denning Foundation” will soon be listed in an upcoming blog entry.
